Chinese Ribbon Drgon workshop
Ribbon Dragon Cultural Experience Workshop
The “Ribbon Dragon”, also known as the “Whipping Dragon”, is a new type of fitness exercise that incorporates traditional dragon dance elements. The “Ribbon Dragon” consists of a small dragon head and a coloured silk ribbon approximately 2-12 metres long and can be danced by just one person. Dancers attach a thick rope to the dragon’s nose, hold the rope, and through arm movements and footwork variations, can perform various patterns.
The “Dragon Dance” is a long-standing intangible cultural heritage project in China, closely tied to the genes of Chinese culture. In recent years, by integrating fitness elements, dragon dance techniques have been innovated, and the promotion of the “Ribbon Dragon” project has become increasingly popular. The project also combines various skill techniques from dragon art, gymnastics, martial arts, dance, and acrobatic diabolo.
Our company has invited Master Zou Peng, who studied traditional Chinese martial arts in Henan since childhood, and his team, to Tai O to teach the “Ribbon Dragon Workshop”, allowing participants to experience a new type of fitness exercise incorporating traditional dragon dance elements. The “Ribbon Dragon” is easy to learn and suitable for people of all ages. Master Zou has taught martial arts courses for many years at the Shaolin Martial Arts Centre, with rich experience and engaging teaching methods.
